Carbon Structural Steel, it is a kind of carbon steel. The carbon content is about 0.05% ~ 0.70%, some may be as high as 0.90%. It can be divided into ordinary carbon structural steel and high quality carbon structural steel. Mainly used for railway, bridge, all kinds of construction engineering, the manufacture of various metal components bearing static load and mechanical parts and general welding parts which are not important and do not need heat treatment.
Wear plates are made for rock-processing machinery, crushers and power shovels containing about 1.2 percent carbon and 12 percent manganese. Its wear resistant traits have high work-hardening capabilities. The Wear Resistant Steel - XAR 400, is comprised of elevated wear resistance and good welding ability. With the special chemical composition, XAR 400 is combined with a heat treatment by quenching or tempering. Owing to its alloying and rigidity, this steel ensures reliable amalgamation. The steel possesses chemical composition with moderately low carbon equivalents.

Performance description :
The chemical composition of the wear-resistant alloy with excellent wear resistance has a carbon content of 4 to 5%, a chromium content of 25 to 30%, the volume fraction of Cr7C3 carbides in its metallographic structure is more than 50%, and its macro hardness is HRC56~ 62. The hardness of chromium carbide is HV1400-1800. Since the carbides are distributed perpendicular to the wear direction, the wear resistance is more than doubled compared with the cast alloys of the same composition and hardness. The wear resistance comparison with several typical materials is as follows: (1) with low carbon steel; 20~25:1 (2) with as-cast high chromium cast iron; 1.5~2.5:1
The substrate of good impact resistance and wear-resistant composite steel plate is low carbon steel or low alloy. Tough materials such as stainless steel reflect the superiority of bimetals, the wear-resistant layer resists the wear of the abrasive medium, and the substrate bears the load of the medium, so it has good impact resistance. It can withstand impact and wear such as high drop hoppers in material conveying systems.
Better heat-resistant alloy wear-resistant layer is recommended to be used under the working condition of ≤600ºC. If vanadium, molybdenum and other alloys are added to the alloy wear-resistant layer, it can withstand high temperature wear of ≤800ºC. The recommended operating temperature is as follows: ordinary carbon steel substrates are recommended to be used under 380ºC; low alloy heat-resistant steel plates (15CrMo, 12Cr1MOV, etc.) are recommended to be used under 540ºC; heat-resistant stainless steel substrates are recommended to be used under Use at 800°C.
The alloy layer of the good corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant composite steel plate contains a high percentage of metallic chromium, so it has certain rust and corrosion resistance. It can be used to prevent coal from sticking to coal drop drums and funnels.
